RUA festival received the annual prize from the Ida-Viru expert group of the Cultural Endowment of Estonia for 2021's RUA festival in Eastern Estonia. It was the second year that RUA took place in the eastern part of Estonia.

Being in a region that has a bit of a different cultural room than the rest of Estonia and sometimes finding oneself behind a language barrier were features that only added to the adventure. We met unforgettably warm hospitality there and found new friends amongst the Russian-speaking community. Street art hadn't really made its way to the eastern part of Estonia yet, so we saw tons of first reactions to artists painting on streets and on the social media. Without any exaggeration, all of these reactions were positive and joyful! We couldn't have been happier than to introduce street art in a region where it was welcomed with open arms.
